Mastering Focusing Partnership feeds your hunger for personal
and professional growth... FOR A LIFETIME
Launching Focusing as a Practice
requires a combination of:
* Regular Workshops for
refining concepts and putting them into practice
* Weekly Partnership Exchange
* 1:1 and 1:2 Coaching for individual attention
* Community Focusing Workshops
* 3 person 3 hour (3p3h) applied focusing (optional
but highly recommended)
Workshops are 5 hours and
happen every 2 months. They are taught by Robert Lee and staff.
They include:
1. 12 Avenues into Felt Sensing (Domain of Felt Sensing)
2. Thinking in Focusing (Domain of Issue/Situation)
3. Getting help from Self-Empathy (Domain of Self-Empathy)
4. Advanced Listening. Listening differently to the domains
5. Phases of focusing-starting, linking, entering, shifting, acting
Weekly partnership exchange.
New partners at each workshop. About 1 hour/week. Exchange can
be on the phone or in person.
Coaching - monthly coaching
sessions (10 of these) with staff trainers. These are usually
1:1 sessions for an hour. They may also be 1:2 with your partner
of the cycle for 1.5 hours.
Community Focusing Groups
with Robert Lee - Five of these - two hours each-- one month after
each workshop on conference calls on the phone.
3p3h Applied Focusing with
Robert Lee. It is highly recommended that you take two of these
workshops during the course. In these workshops each person works
for a half hour with Lee in an applied domain focusing session.
For people who are interested in using focusing professionally,
(therapists, teachers, bodyworkers, artists, etc.), these workshops
are most relevant. Additional cost of each 3p3h workshop is $125.
Cost of Course: $1125 (can
be made in payments)
Double Back-up System for Recovering
missed Workshops. You receive a video (or DVD) of the missed
workshop at cost ($25) and you can take that workshop in another
course when it is offered, at no additional fee.
Traveling from a Distance:
People are usually able to get all 5 workshops in 3 trips since
usually two courses are running on the same weekend but at different
points in the cycle so different workshops.
Requirements to join course:
You need to have a professional sense of responsibility. You need
to have done at least a level 1 focusing workshop or, as an alternative,
a 3 person 3 hour workshop with Robert Lee + four 1:1 focusing
coaching sessions on partnership, preferably with a trainer experienced
in Domain Focusing. We can put you in touch with such a trainer.
Robert L. Lee, Ph.D. is a
focusing theoretician and innovator. The last 4 years he has organized
5 focusing training groups and a post-trainer group. Two of the
training groups were for psychotherapists, two were for professionals
of various kinds. A licensed psychologist, Lee has developed a
new model for teaching focusing (Domain Focusing), he has developed
a theory and practice for change on the macro level for stubborn
problems (Changing the Unchangeable), he has developed a comprehensive
practice for working with difficulties in felt sense formation
(Elusive Felt Sensing). He has developed special methods for using
focusing in couples' therapy and in group therapy; he has applied
focusing to Quaker spirituality and to physical problems.
Refunds: from the point of
