Sevenshift Macro Intensives
Break Through into a New Light!
5 hours.
available also in 3 hour "Baby 7" session
Sevenshift Focusing is a special intervention
from the Macroshifting: Changing the Unchangeable theory/practice
I have developed. Certain difficult-to-change things require special
interventions. Sevenshift focusing is an intensive but soft long
intervention where we go for seven different shifts to carry the
change process beyond the usual barriers. It reminds me of the
movie of Tom Hanks on the desert island trying to escape the barrier
waves to get out to the open sea.
Any kind of issue is fair game for this workshop.
That includes pain and serious illness. It includes family situations,
which mostly involve someone else. It includes habits, addictions,
career barriers, relationship barriers, integrity barriers, financial
issues. It includes chronic battles with fatigue, depression,
or anxiety. It includes life patterns, which keep repeating.
In this workshop, one person works with me for
5 hours. (or 3 hours in the shorter version.) There are breaks
and there are pauses for elaboration on the model.
In the sessions, I use my model of Domain Focusing.
Domain Focusing has an entire domain dedicated to identifying
the situation and naming it carefully. No other focusing model
I know of, gives such explicit attention to this mostly thinking
aspect of focusing. In the Sevenshift workshops, it is precisely
the naming of each subsequent “situation” which requires the most
creativity. With each shift there has been an occurring into the
implying and there is then a new implying . . . there is a new
situation. When we can name that and can also find a way to enter
that, we can go for the multiple shift.
Focusing brings shifts, which open new possibilities
for action. Little shifts and small action steps are the building
blocks for changes on the macro level. However, particularly with
intransigent issues, little steps do not seem to always lead to
larger change. “Macroshifting”, another name for Changing the
Unchangeable, needs some of its own special methods. The Sevenshift
intervention is one of these special methods.

Follow up applied focusing sessions (more)
for witnesses (1 person 1 hour (1p1h), 2p2h, 3p3h, 4p4h) for processing
the impact are highly recommended!
The witnesses often have deep impacts in relation to their own
issues toward the end of the 7shift. Getting a shift
at that point is often parallel to the depth of a 7shift session.

Robert L. Lee, Ph.D., is a focusing
theoretician and innovator. A licensed psychologist, he has developed
a new model for teaching focusing (Domain Focusing). He has developed
a theory and practice for change on the macro level for stubborn
problems (Changing the Unchangeable). He has developed a comprehensive
practice for working with difficulties in felt sense formation
(Elusive Felt Sensing). In psychotherapy, he has developed special
methods for using focusing in couples therapy, in group therapy,
and with anxiety. He hosted the 2004 International Focusing Conference
in Costa Rica on the theme of the Fertility of Focusing: Applying
Focusing to Specific Areas.
